Code of Conduct

VHCBS' Code of Conduct supports our mission to focus on instilling confidence and self-esteem through emphasizing values such as teamwork, respect, honesty, courage, and sportsmanship. We require all of our players and player families to practice the below codes of conduct to provide a safe and positive environment.

As a player, I will conduct myself at all times in a way that demonstrates my commitment to my team and the VHCBS. I will be positive about my youth sports experience and accept responsibility for my participation by following this Players’ Code of Conduct.

I therefore agree:

1. I hereby pledge to be positive about my youth sports experience and accept responsibility for my participation by following this Players’ Code of Conduct.

2. I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials and parents at every game and practice by demonstrating good sportsmanship.

3. I will attend every practice and game that I can, and will notify my coach if I cannot.

4. I will arrive at practices and games on time.

5. I will do my best to listen and learn from my coaches and work toward the goals that are set.

6. I will work with my coaches and teammates to develop team skills. I will emphasize team play over my personal accomplishments.

7. I will treat my coaches, other players, officials and fans fairly and with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or abilities, and I will expect to be treated accordingly.

8. I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and expect adults to refrain from their use at all youth sports events.

9. I will encourage my parents to be involved with my team in some capacity because it is important to me.

10. I will do my very best in school.

11. I will remember that sports are an opportunity to learn and have fun.

12. I will respect the calls of the officials and never argue with officials or coaches.

13. I will never complain to my coaches during a game about my playing time or other decisions made by the coaches during a game.

14. I will remember that sports can be dangerous and will play safely and in such ways to minimize the risks to myself and others.

15. I will respect my opponents and positively recognize their efforts.

16. I will honestly and wholeheartedly applaud the efforts of my teammates and opponents.

17. I will obey the rules of the game and the association.

18. I will conduct myself with honor and dignity as a player and representative of the team and VHCBS both on and off the field.
