We’re excited to share that The Den, Vernon Hills Community Baseball & Softball’s indoor training facility, has recently undergone a refresh. Visitors will notice new, cleaner signage out front, giving the facility a more polished and welcoming appearance.
Inside, The Den now features a freshly painted interior, creating a brighter and more inviting space for our athletes to train and grow.
This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our community partners. A heartfelt thank you to Rust-Oleum for donating the paint and to Fresh Coat Painters for donating their time and labor to bring this project to life.
We’re proud to continue building a better environment for our players, thanks to the strength of our local partnerships.

To our amazing community,
As the leaves begin to change colors and the air turns crisp, it’s time to embrace the beauty of fall. The Vernon Hills Community Baseball and Softball program wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing community for another successful season. Thank you to our players, parents, family members, coaches, umpires and volunteers. This season would not be possible without your support, enthusiasm and commitment.
The VHCBS would also like to give a special thank you to the Village of Vernon Hills - Government and the Vernon Hills Park District for their invaluable partnerships in allowing us to utilize the Vernon Hills Athletic Complex and other fields throughout the community. We are so fortunate to be able to call our award winning parks program home, and serve as a backdrop for highlight reel catches, homeruns, great wins, and memories year after year! Our teams, along with those visiting, are fortunate to play on the best fields in Chicagoland!
As 2024 comes to a close, we have worked hard to “winterize” the VHAC fields and get everything ready for the colder months ahead. Our sheds and storage containers have been cleaned up and organized and all equipment secured away ready to be put to use again next season.
The VHCBS wish all the best for those who are aging out of our program and look forward to following your post-Cougars high school baseball and softball careers.
Now it’s time to start training for 2025! We look forward to seeing everyone back on the fields in the spring.
Go Cougars!
Warm regards,
The Vernon Hills Community Baseball & Softball Board
